 Seminars
We will set-up a virtual “Faculty of Extension” in each university in terms of geography, target group and teaching methods, offering “international – regional” virtual seminars, open to every citizen, using virtual means to deliver the contents and engage interaction and collaboration.
Two different models of Virtual Seminars will be implemented and evaluated:
A Virtual Seminar Series of monthly seminars during the school year
Each virtual seminar of the “Virtual Seminar Series” will consist of 3 main parts:
- Interactive preparatory activities: These will run virtually following different instructional design models and supported by different technologies (such as WIKI, forum, chat, etc)
- Seminar Delivery
- Presentation from internationally recognised top expert: delivered virtually (videoconferencing, live streaming, satellite), distributed to the other partners in the network and with interaction possibilities. The topic is presented from a European perspective.
- Localisation of the topic by the participants in each region.
- Debate between all partner sites on main conclusions of each region.
- Interactive follow-up activities: These will run virtually following different instructional design models and supported by different technologies (WIKI, forum, chat, etc)
A Virtual Summer School during 1 week in July or August 2007. The Virtual Summer School will be considered as one whole. It will consist of three main parts
- Interactive preparatory activities before the week starts at each site
- 1 week distributed seminar delivery (with a presentation, localisation activities and adebate on each of the five days, coordinated each time by a different partner and with the participation of the other partners)
- Interactive follow-up activities after the week ends
